Back to the Start (a song, 2008/09, revisited 2014)

I know we can take back
all the things we know were wrong,
I know what we can do,
we can work to move on.

The stories still to write,
and the places still to see -
all the things that could be said
and the things that we could be.

We don't need a reason
to go back to the start -
that autumn sun in August then,
when I shared with you, my heart.
We don't need a reason
to go back to the start -
you know how well things will be,
no need to be apart.

We'll have that little room
with the typewriter and desk,
that I told you about, and
I'll give you all the rest -

Sometimes we'll live so poor,
and maybe sometimes, not so bad -
and like I told you: on my shoulder's
always a home for when you're sad.

And we don't need a reason
to go back to the start -
that autumn sun in August then,
when you shared with me, your heart.
We don't need a reason
to go back to the start -
you know how well things will be,
no need to be apart.
